The proper spelling of the widely misspelled "Kumasi". This is the commercial, industrial and cultural capital of the Asante Region of Ghana. It is also affectionately called, "The Garden City" or Ɔsεekurom',also misspelled as 'Oseikrom', meaning Osεe Tutu's town(The name of its current chieftain). Kumase is the correct spelling due to its history and meaning. The name "Okum ase" literally means "Under the Oak tree".
